There is one vacancy for one (1) Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) on the North Carolina Psychology Board (Board) beginning July 1, 2025. NCPA recommends psychologists to the Governor for these positions, taking into consideration various fields and areas of psychology and adequate representation from various geographic regions in the State when making the nominations. Eligible nominees must be:
1) A resident of North Carolina and the United States;
2) Actively engaged in one or more branches of psychology, in education and training of psychologists, or in psychological research for at least five years, the two most current of which must have been in North Carolina; and
3) Free of any conflict of interest in performing the duties of the Board.
The general duties of the Board are:
• Approve and discipline licensees;
• Address issues relevant to the practice of psychology;
• Attend quarterly meetings; and
• Be available for occasional interim virtual conferences.
