DURHAM – Senior Neuropsychologist

NeuroCog Trials is a growing clinical trials company located in Durham.

We are recruiting for a PhD-level neuropsychologist who will participate in the development and use of innovative new technologies that assess cognition in Alzheimer’s disease and aging.  This individual will also assist in developing and validating new test batteries, reviewing, analyzing and interpreting cognitive test data, and will oversee neurocognitive rater certification and data quality control for multi-site pharmaceutical company trials. The area of work will primarily be in Alzheimer’s disease, aging, and schizophrenia.  These clinical trials usually involve a large meeting of investigators and testers who require certification.  Some limited travel to US or international meetings is expected. Familiarity with cognitive assessment is essential.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in psychology, neurosciences or related field
  • Demonstrated experience (in clinical and/or research settings) in working with adult psychiatric or neurologic populations; experience with Alzheimer’s disease, MCI, schizophrenia, depression, multiple sclerosis or aging
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments and administering scales within a clinical and/or research context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly CNS clinical trials, is valuable
  • Clinical experience in conducting assessments and administering scales with adult psychiatric or neurologic populations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Board-licensed School Psychologist at K-8 charter schools in Raleigh/Durham and/or Greensboro.  Full- and Part-time positions available.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, score and interpret results of standardized assessments
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Interpret psychological diagnostic data to professionals and parents
  • Refer potential special education students to other appropriate special education diagnostic personnel as appropriate
  • Participate in eligibility meetings and IEP meetings for initial placement of students in special education, as well as exit from special education
  • Plan educational intervention, curriculum, management and teaching strategies for pupils as time and caseload permits
  • Serve as a resource person concerning learning differences for school staff and parents
  • Contribute to the RtI planning and implementation as needed
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments as needed
  • Write behavior plans as needed

Required Education and Licensure: Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology and licensure by the North Carolina Psychology Board
