CHARLOTTE – Atrium Health is currently seeking a Psychologist for an integrated behavioral health position at the Cabarrus Family Medicine – Kannapolis practice.  The clinic is part of a family medicine residency and one of four sites with integrated behavioral health.  The provider will need to offer a broad range of services including: consultation, warm handoffs, brief testing/screenings, brief counseling, motivational interviewing, crisis management & triage, individual, family therapy.  Strong skills as a generalist across the lifespan apply.  Skills in working within a medical facility and with chronic disease states are preferred.  The candidate should be NC licensed, have strong interpersonal and computer skills, basic knowledge of psychopharmacology and a comfort in working in a fast-paced medical environment. Working in this environment, the provider can be expected to strive to improve patient access to behavioral healthcare and improve the flow of communication between behavioral health and medical providers.

Qualifications: 
Doctoral and/or Master’s Degree in Psychology required. All appropriate licenses and certifications to provide clinical services. Psychologist with a minimum of two (2) years, full time clinical experience in behavioral medicine preferred. Experience in consulting with multidisciplinary teams of allied health care professionals. BLS HCP from AHA required.

MILL SPRING, NC

PAVILLON, a private, residential treatment facility for adults recovering from alcohol and substance abuse seeks full-time Psychologist.

Provides clinical psychological/mental health assessment, diagnostic evaluation and select testing for adult patients in a residential SA/Dual Diagnosis facility.  Evaluates all admitting patients providing diagnoses, treatment plan recommendations and consultation to the multidisciplinary treatment team.  Administer and interpret psychological tests as needed for intellectual functioning, personality, neuropsychological and chemical dependency assessment. Conduct specialized neuropsychological testing as indicated and for comprehensive evaluation services. Provide group lectures as well as individual and group therapy as needed, addressing co-occurring mental health and substance abuse problems.  Provide crisis assessment and intervention.

Must have at least three years’ experience providing psychological/mental health testing and diagnostic evaluation in an addiction and dual disorders environment. Experience with neuropsychological evaluation and clinical interventions with adults with co-occurring mental health and addictive disorders.

EDUCATION:

  • PhD or Psy.D in Clinical/Counseling Psychology
  • North Carolina LPC or LPA required
  • Substance Abuse certified or eligible preferred.

DURHAM – NeuroCog Trials is a company located in Durham, North Carolina that specializes in enabling clinical trials research through advanced technologies and neurocognitive measurement.  The company is seeking a Neurologist to oversee the medical aspects of the company’s expanding neurosciences portfolio. This position involves active participation with other scientists on the team in the development and use of innovative new technologies that assess cognition in neurodegenerative conditions.  The individual will also be involved in the certification and data quality control for multi-site pharmaceutical company trials. The area of work will encompass a number of neurological and psychiatric disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and schizophrenia.  These clinical trials usually involve a large meeting of investigators and testers who require certification.  Some limited travel to US or international meetings is expected. Familiarity with cognitive assessment is essential.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree in Neurology or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in working with adult psychiatric or neurologic populations; experience with Alzheimer’s disease, MCI, schizophrenia, depression, multiple sclerosis or aging
  • Demonstrated clinical research experience in conducting standardized assessments and administering scales in pharmaceutical trials or within other research designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly CNS clinical trials, is valuable
  • Clinical experience in conducting assessments and administering scales with adult psychiatric or neurologic populations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment

UNC CHAPEL HILL — Temporary, part-time staff- Psychologist

This position will provide psychological evaluation (including administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological inventories) and behavioral therapy (including cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral modification, and biofeedback) as part of multidisciplinary management of chronic orofacial pain and temporomandibular disorders. The candidate will also engage in multi-disciplinary case conferences for patient-centered care. A minor role will include participation in selected teaching and research activities.

Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Psychology. Applicants must hold current and active North Carolina Psychology License.

Experience with the management of chronic pain patients is preferred; ability to carry out direct psychological services at a high level of clinical expertise.
